PTO—Parent-Teacher Organization

Open to all school families, PTO is an important part of SMCS. Raising funds
to supplement and enrich the curriculum for our children is
the PTO’s primary focus with past funds used for a variety of projects such as:

   • Playground and facilities upgrades
   • Technology upgrades
   • Teacher discretionary funds
   • Active fundraising projects include events like:
   • Annual Mardi Gras Gala and Spring Fling
   • Tuesday Night Take-Out—local restaurants donate a portion of proceeds
   • SilverGraphics—student art turned into keepsakes
   • Belk Charity Days.

PTO has two school-wide annual meetings; one in Fall and one in Spring and holds regular organizational meeting and event-specific meeting throughout the year.
PTO is run entirely by volunteers. The more participation PTO has, the more it can do.
