St. Mark Pre-K Program
Our program is designed to present developmentally appropriate activities throughout themed units. It will foster emergent reading, math, science and community awareness skills needed for kindergarten as the children’s self-confidence and self-esteem flourish. The opportunity to attend five days provides the teaching staff the opportunity to more fully explore each unit with the children and to celebrate Holy days and holidays. We will promote interest in pretend play through centers, construction materials, and simple games. We will look at community helpers and role models, and investigate media/ communications/ technology which is appropriate for this developmental level. This “kinder, gentler” approach will benefit children in a more structured four year old environment who may need an extra year to grow before entering our Kindergarten program.
