March 22 Parent Update

Dear Parents,

Please join us as our 8th grade students present the Living Stations of the Cross, tomorrow, Friday, March 23rd at 2pm.

Note: If you need to check out your child early tomorrow, please do so prior to 2pm so as not to disrupt the presentation.

Spring pictures are April 5th (PreK through 5th) and April 6th (6th through 8th). PreK through 7th grade are to dress in "nice" spring attire (no jeans or shorts for girls, no jeans for boys, no t-shirts for all). On April 6th we will take the 8th grade graduating cap and gown pictures. Boys are to wear ties; girls are to wear appropriate length dresses.

March 26-30 = Spring break

March 26-28 = Pray, Paint, Play Camp for K thru 6th grade

April 2 = Easter Monday, No school

April 5 = Spring Pictures PreK-5th grade

April 6 = 6th-7th spring pictures, 8th grade cap & gown pictures, spring sports

April 21 = International Food Festival

April 27 = Grandparents Day

April 27-May 4 = Scholastic book fair

April 28 = Ignited by Truth Catholic Conference

Save the Date

May 14 = MS Spring concert for chorus, guitar, orchestra and band

The Wilmington Symphony has generously donated a set of tickets for St. Mark families to attend the symphony's production of "Don Giovanni" on Saturday, April 21st at 7:30pm. The performance will be held in the Wilson Center, located downtown on the campus of CFCC.

International Food Festival Volunteers Needed

The St. Mark Catholic Church International Food Festival is quickly approaching and will be held Saturday April 21st, 2018. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity please contact Katelyn Cook at kcookpt@gmail.com or 941-201-2871.

There are so many ways to help!

Serving food at the festival

Serving beverages at the festival

Supervising one of five inflatables at the festival this year

Serving as a food safety volunteer or runner during the event

Assisting in the tear down process at the completion of the festival

Volunteer hours will be counted toward the 30 hour SMCS yearly family service hour requirement.

No amount of volunteerism is too small! It is what sustains our event and we are so very grateful for help in any capacity!

Pray, Paint, Play Spring break camp - K through 6th grade

Looking for something fun and educational for your child to do during spring break? Consider having them join Ms. Hoffman and Ms. Mifsud for their Pray, Paint, Play Camp. See attached for more information.

St. Mark Vacation Bible School

All Aboard the Vatican Express! Come join the fun and excitement at our Catholic Kidz Camp (VBS), being held at St. Mark June 25-29 from 9 AM until Noon in our Parish Hall. Our VBS is for preschoolers starting at age 3 through rising 5th graders!

Come learn about St. Peter, our current Pope, Vatican City and St. Jerome! Come learn some great songs and meet new friends!

Registrations will be out in a few weeks! Keep an eye on our church bulletin or here in the Parent Update or on the informational screen in our Gathering Space; hope to see you at our Catholic Kidz Camp 2018!

2nd Grade Parent Meeting - the last meeting is March 21st

Parent Meeting for all 2nd grade students who will be preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist - the next Year 2 parent meeting is Wednesday, March 21. Pick one session time to attend: 4:15 - 5:30 OR 6:30 - 7:45 - meetings will take place in Evangelization Room B, in the church educational wing.

Sr. Isaac Center

The Sr Isaac Center is in desperate need of children's clothing (ages infant through 18 yrs.) and toiletry items to hand out to individuals and families in need. Please bring items to be donated to the office.

Shoparoo

Please take 2 minutes to download the Shoparoo app, which is a quick and easy way to earn money for our school! Simply take a picture of your receipt (any type of receipt: grocery store, home goods, restaurant, clothing stores, etc) and answer 1 question! That's all there is to it! Thank you for your support.

Harris Teeter

Please remember to re-link your Harris Teeter VIC cards to SMCS by going to www.harristeeter.com and clicking on "Together In Education (TIE)" link. You may also re-link your VIC card to SMCS at the register. The school ID number is 4942
